We have invested millions in our facilities for you!
A £4m capital investment programme has provided new state-of-the-art facilities across our
wide-ranging curriculum as the college promotes new T Level qualifications in Art & Design,
Digital Production, Education & Early Years, Health & Science, Engineering & Manufacturing.
Partnering with Kier Construction, the Kier Skills Academy offers our future
bricklaying students hands-on experience through workshops, mentorship, and
site visits led by industry professionals. This initiative enhances learning, expands
access to work placements and apprenticeships, and provides a clear pathway
into the construction industry.
Bishop Auckland College’s Esports facilities have been enhanced with the
installation of a professional-grade F1-style racing simulator. This setup gives
students hands-on experience with industry-standard technology used in
competitive Esports and sim racing.
A brand new science lab with an anomatage table which can be used to carry out
virtual autopsies, enabling students to virtually dissect humans and see exactly
how organs, muscles and blood systems work.
A new three-bed ward and attached flat with kitchen, bathroom, bed and living
space to simulate a home care environment is ready for the new academic year
for health and social care programmes. Equipment for the new ward includes
two programmable mannequins controlled by an iPad which can simulate various
medical emergencies.
State-of-the-art automotive training equipment provides students with hands-on
experience in electric and hybrid vehicle systems. This includes electronic desktop
and panel trainers that enable learners to build, test, and troubleshoot EV circuits
and systems in a realistic, practical setting.
