A course speci昀椀cally designed to engage and motivate you if you are interested in learning the basics around
maintenance and repair of motor vehicles. Our well-equipped workshop will support you in working on a range of vehicles
using tools and machinery that are standard to most garages, as well as an introduction to our hybrid and electrical
training panels. You will take part in your own enterprise project running a weekly car wash and valeting service, enjoying
the pro昀椀ts with a fantastic trip out at the end of the year! Progression from this course is onto Level 1.
Vehicle Maintenance Level 1
A course designed for learners who love cars and are interested in learning about the motor vehicle industry. During the
year you will study various elements including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering and suspension and
working safely to industry standards in preparation for employment. There is also the opportunity to work on customer’s
cars in the college’s semi-commercial garage as well as on our hybrid and electrical training panels. Learners take part in
industry related trips to meet with local employers, as well as an enterprise project. Progression is onto Level 2 Fitting or
Maintenance and Repair depending upon entry requirements.

Vehicle Fitting Principles Level 2
This course is ideal for anyone looking to kick-start their motor vehicle career. It will give you the opportunity to develop
your practical skills whilst gaining a better understanding of the fast-昀椀t industry. As a fast 昀椀t technician, you will be taught
how to replace and repair exhausts, brakes, tyres and batteries. The course is both theory and practical based and includes
training on new and innovative hybrid and electrical systems. Progression can lead into Level 2 Maintenance and Repair or
an apprenticeship standard.
Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 2 and 3
This course provides both practical and theoretical training on light vehicles, covering routine maintenance, engine and
component replacement, electrical and chassis systems, and advanced diagnostics for complex faults. Learners gain handson experience in a well-equipped workshop, including hybrid and electrical training, and bene昀椀t from industry-standard work
placements. Assessments include practical tasks, written assignments, and online tests, preparing learners for progression
to higher-level courses, apprenticeships, or careers in vehicle maintenance and repair.
