Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is a great way to gain real-world experience while you work towards a
nationally recognised qualification. You will spend around 80% of your time with an
employer, learning on the job, and 20% in college developing the knowledge to support
your role.
Apprentices are paid a wage from day one, starting at a minimum of £7.55 per hour (from
April 2025), and many continue into full-time jobs with their employer after completing
their training.
Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of subjects, including:

• Bricklaying
• Carpentry & Joinery
• Business Administration
• Early Years Educator
• Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance
• Catering and Hospitality
• Teaching Assistant and Specialist Support

Apprenticeships are available at different levels, from Level 2 up to Level 5, and can
take between one and four years to complete depending on the subject.
