HND Performing Arts
Higher National Diploma
Programme Overview
This programme develops skills in acting, movement, voice, improvisation,
devising, directing, and performance for the performance industry. You
will take part in regular workshops, rehearsals, public performances
and industry-focused creative projects that mirror professional practice.
Units explore areas such as professional development, research
skills, production techniques, musical theatre, small-scale touring, and
devised performance. Learning is delivered through practical workshops,
ensemble work, performances, lectures, seminars and masterclasses
with visiting practitioners. Assessment is varied and includes live
performances, creative projects, written assignments and production
work, helping you develop a versatile portfolio suited to today’s performing
arts industry.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold a minimum of 80 UCAS points from A Levels,
Level 3 Diplomas, a combination of Level 3 Certificates, or an Access
to HE Diploma, plus a portfolio and/or the ability to pass an audition.
Mature students with relevant life or employment experience will also be
considered. Equivalent international qualifications are considered on a
case by case basis.
What Can I Do When I Finish?
Graduates pursue roles such as Actor, Performer, Drama Facilitator,
Director, Choreographer, Theatre Technician, or progress to BA (Hons)
Performing Arts/Acting Top Up programmes.
