Finance & Course Costs
At Bishop Auckland College, we’re committed to making education accessible.
Many of our part-time courses could be free of charge, depending on your individual
circumstances. The information below will help you understand whether you may be
entitled to free tuition or financial assistance.
Who might qualify for free part-time courses?
You may be able to access free tuition if you are:
•
Unemployed, receive certain benefits and are looking for work, or are currently
employed and earn below £32,000.
•
Studying a Level 3 qualification and are either unemployed and receiving eligible
benefits, or employed with an annual income below £32,000.
•
Aged 19 to 23 and studying your first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 qualification.
•
Studying English or maths and do not already hold a Level 2 or above in these
subjects.
•
Studying a Digital Skills qualification and don’t already hold a Level 1 or above in
this subject.
Please note: income thresholds are subject to change. To confirm your eligibility,
you will need to provide up-to-date evidence such as recent wage slips or
documentation of benefits (either printed or digital) when you enrol.
Financial Support and Payment Options
Our experienced finance team is here to guide you through the process and help you
understand what funding options are available. If your course isn’t free, you may still
be able to:

Pay in instalments
•
Apply for an Advanced Learner Loan or a Tuition Fee Loan to help cover course
costs (available on selected qualifications)

Ready to take the next step in your career?
If you’re aged 19 or over, you could be eligible to study a
Level 3 qualification for free at Bishop Auckland College
through the Free Courses for Jobs initiative.
