ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE
LEVEL 1 ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES
If you’re interested in how things are designed, made and maintained, this course provides
an excellent introduction to the engineering industry. You’ll develop practical skills,
technical knowledge and confidence while exploring a range of engineering disciplines.
Alongside hands-on learning, you’ll build essential employability skills such as teamwork,
communication, problem-solving and safe working practices. This course will help you gain
a broad understanding of the sector and the opportunities available within it.
LEVEL 2 ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES - MAINTENANCE
Learners are introduced to electrical and mechanical maintenance, developing essential
practical and theoretical skills. They gain hands-on experience wiring basic electrical
systems, using hand tools, and manufacturing and maintaining mechanical components.
The course provides a strong foundation for further study or progression into an
apprenticeship.
LEVEL 3 ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES - MAINTENANCE
Build skills and experience to take your engineering knowledge to the next level and
develop the technical and practical skills needed to maintain modern mechanical and
electrical systems. The course combines technical theory with practical learning, helping
prepare you for advanced roles, further study or progression within the engineering
industry. The course prepares learners for advanced engineering roles, apprenticeships or
further study.
T LEVEL MAINTENANCE, INSTALLATION
AND REPAIR FOR ENGINEERING AND
MANUFACTURING
Build the skills and experience to launch your
engineering career. This two-year Level 3 T Level
combines practical training, technical knowledge and
a minimum 315-hour industry placement. You’ll learn
to install, maintain, repair and service engineering
and manufacturing equipment, using industrystandard tools, technologies and practices. Gain
real-world experience and prepare for a skilled career,
higher apprenticeship, further study or university.
COURSE
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
L1 Engineering Technologies
Minimum 3 GCSE’s at grades 1/2 or equivalent.
L2 Engineering Technologies
- Maintenance
Four GCSEs at grade 2/3 (or equivalent), including English,
maths.
L3 Engineering Technologies
- Maintenance
Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or equivalent), including
English or maths.
T LEVEL Maintenance Installation Minimum five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or equivalent),
and Repair for Engineering and
including English and Maths or a Level 2 qualification in a
Manufacturing
relevant subject area.
