HOW TO APPLY
1. Choose a Course
Check out the courses on offer using our online course explorer or come
to one of our open events to find out more.
2. Apply Online
After choosing the course you would like to study, click the Apply Now
button on the course page and complete our online application form. If
you're not sure which level will be best for you, don't worry – just apply
to one course for the subject you are interested in and we will do the
rest. You can apply any time.
3. Meet Your Tutor
We will invite you for an informal meet the tutor chat, where you will
receive advice and guidance from one of our friendly teaching staff.
This is a great chance to speak with a tutor and find out more about the
programme you would like to study.
4. Offer
We will review your application and be in touch with your next steps or
an offer for a place at South West Durham Training
5. Accept Your Place
Once you have accepted your offer, we will hold this place for you
and invite you to our Welcome Day in July. This is a great chance to
familiarise yourself with the college ahead of your official start in
September.
The day will include:
• An introduction to your course and teaching staff
• A tour of the college and classroom spaces
• Key information about your studies and expectations
• An opportunity to ask any questions you may have
6. Your First Day
You will be invited to our Enrolment Day during the Summer. This is the
day you get to finalise your place at South West Durham Training! You
will come to college with your GCSE results and we will enrol you and
issue you with your FREE student ID. Student Finance and Transport,
Learning Support, Student Progression and the DBS teams will also be
available to speak to on this day.
