The Learner Support Team is here to support you
with any welfare and pastoral needs you may have
whilst you are studying, such as:
• Your health and well-being including mental
health concerns
• Issues you may have at home
• Relationship problems including issues with
your peers
• Extra support at college if you are a young
carer, young parent or working with an external
agency
• Help if you become homeless
• Issues attending your course
We know that facing any issues like these can impact on
how well you do at college but we are here to listen and
support you through whatever it is you may be facing. We
may also refer you to more specialist support such as
housing, the emotional resilience advisor or counselling.

Inclusion and Support Services
Bishop Auckland College has a dedicated team for Inclusion. Each and every learner can reach their full potential and access
learning through our ambitious drive and dedication to SEND and additional needs.
All learners are given holistic access to wrap-around support from point of application, throughout transition, across all college sites,
in-classroom and outside of classroom, and in the wider college environment. We understand that college can be a daunting step for
many, and for this reason, our team of dedicated inclusion staff is here to reduce anxiety and provide support at every opportunity.
This support enables our learners to access all available opportunities, and to have the most positive learning experience whilst
studying at Bishop Auckland College. Whatever your support needs, you can be con昀椀dent that we will have a tailored approach to
your individual requirements.
Our college works in partnership with teaching staff, the local authority, internal and external agencies, employers and organisations,
to provide a destination driven, inclusive and person centred approach. The support we offer is informed and improved through
regular reviewing, and our aim, where possible, is to guide you with con昀椀dence and pride to independence and employment. You
